Southwest New Brunswick Service Commission

The Southwest New Brunswick region includes the Village of McAdam, Municipal District of St Stephen, Rural Community of Campobello, Town of Saint Andrews, Rural Community of Eastern Charlotte, Rural Community of Fundy Shores, Village of Grand Manan and Rural District 10.

We provide solid waste services, planning, development and inspection services, as well as regional economic development, regional tourism promotion, recreation cost-sharing services, community development including public transportation planning and more.

White Goods Program

The 2023 White Goods Collection program has started as of April 1. There is a new online form available to arrange the pickup of your old appliances.

Waste Management

 

The Southwest New Brunswick Service Commission has an on going commitment to provide our residents with environmentally responsible and cost effective solid waste management services.

We operate a 1000 acre site located in Lawrence Station, New Brunswick that contains a modern sanitary landfill, recycling facilities, a C&D site, and more.

Building & Planning

We provides land planning services to all Local Service Districts in our region, along with the towns of Saint Andrews, and St. George; and the villages of McAdam and Harvey.

The commission's planning functions includes development of rural plans, the administration and enforcement of the plans, issuing building permits, conducting building inspections and subdivision approval.

Note: our planning office is moving August 14 to 33 Wall Street, St. Stephen.

Recreation

SNBSC is the entity through which Municipalities, Rural Communities and Local Service Districts come together to identify and assist with planning regional or sub-regional recreational and cultural facilities.

We are currently working with community groups on several projects throughout the region including the Coastal Link Trail project, Harvey area recreation programming, and eastern Charlotte county cost sharing of facilities.
